Paracord-armbånd i cobra design med to farger

Paracord-armbånd i cobra design med to farger

Create a Two-Colored Paracord Bracelet with a Cobra Pattern

Easily create a two-colored paracord bracelet with this simple pattern called the cobra pattern. In this guide, we will show you how to use two parachute cords/paracord cords for your bracelet, by simply melting them together into one long cord, and you can essentially follow our guide even for a simple one-colored paracord bracelet. By using two colors, you can achieve an incredibly stylish color combination pattern. The advantage of using two colors is that children will be able to easily remember which side they are on, as they only need to remember which color they last used and choose the other color based on that. They only need to remember to choose alternating colors. The bracelet in the guide is shown with a closure with a snap clip. Also, watch the video below where we show how easy this technique is for making these stylish bracelets.

Have fun crafting...

Techniques and skills:

  • Learn how to tie knots
  • Calculate the length for your paracord bracelet
  • Handle and use a lighter
  • Use melting technique

Materials you will need:

  • 2 snap buckles for closure - one for the bracelet and one for attaching to the braid
  • Up to 2 meters of paracord in one color
  • Up to 2 meters of paracord in another color
  • Some paracord leftovers or other string for tying up

Tools to use:

  • Braiding tool including hanging clamp for fastening
  • Lighter
  • Scissors
  • Optional adjustable burner pen

How to:

Step 1 Measure wrist and calculate length

Step 1

Start by calculating the length your bracelet needs to be to fit the wrist that will wear it. This formula is based on this pattern + 4 mm paracord 550 type III. If you have a different type of paracord, adjust the formula by 0.8 in relation to the thickness of your pattern and/or the type of paracord you are using.

Color 1 and 2 cords:
((the length of the wrist in cm + (Pi * 0.8)) )
e.g. ((17 + (pi*0.8)) = 19.51.

Round up to 20 cm if needed.

Note: If you don't have a calculator that can write parentheses, you can first calculate 3.14 * 0.8 = 2.512. Then input 17+2.512=19.51 on the calculator. Then round up to 20 cm.

In the previous example, you will need at least one cord that is 100 cm + 20 cm = 120 cm, and the other cord should also be 120 cm.

But if it's your first time, we recommend that cord 1 and cord 2 are each at least 150 cm + 20 cm. That is, 170 cm for each of the two cords.
Step 2 Melt the ends of each paracord cord

Step 2

Now take your two paracord cords and melt the ends together using a lighter.

Do this by gently melting each end separately and then joining the two cords together.

They will now stick together as if hot glue had been used. Once the joint has cooled, you can use the now long paracord for your bracelet.
Step 3 Set up the paracord bracelet on the braiding tool

Step 3

Make sure you have the desired length when setting up the paracord bracelet on the braiding tool. Here you use the previously calculated length. In the above example, your bracelet should be 19.51 cm long. Round up to 20 cm if necessary. Then remember to subtract the snap buckle from the length. Our snap buckle is about 3 cm. So the cord should be 17 cm long when you fasten it to the braiding tool.

Now place the paracord on the braiding tool, as shown in the picture, with the "knot" at the bottom and the long cords at the top of the braiding tool. Make sure you have the joint in the middle, that way you are sure to have an equal amount of cord of each color to braid your bracelet. If you know that you have plenty of cord, you may choose to place the joint at the end to completely avoid the joint being visible from above on the bracelet.

Be sure to twist your snap buckles correctly so that the bracelet can close when you are done, so that you do not have two identical fastenings on your bracelet.

Tie the second snap buckle to the braiding tool and fasten the first snap buckle with some leftover cord. Fasten it to the help clamp that holds the braiding tool in place. Remember that your length must be only 20 cm or as long as your bracelet should be. You adjust the length by tying the cord at the bottom of the braiding tool.
Step 4 Start by making a four with the yellow cord

Step 4

Start by laying one of the two long cords so that the arrangement looks like a four. In this case, the yellow cord forms a four.
Step 5 Lay the red paracord cord over the yellow cord

Step 5

Now lay the red paracord cord over the yellow cord.
Step 6 Insert the red paracord cord into the yellow loop

Step 6

Now take the red cord and insert it into the yellow four loop from underneath.
Step 7 Tighten

Step 7

Tighten so that it comes all the way up to the snap buckle and locks the knot. (In the picture above, we have progressed a little further with the pattern than just at the first knot.)
Step 8 Make another four, just in reverse

Step 8

Now make another four - just in reverse - so that you have the two longer cords on your left side of the center cord. Lay the red cord over the yellow paracord cord on the left side.
Step 9 Red cord in yellow loop

Step 9

Now take the red cord and bring it up through the loop from underneath.
Step 8 Tighten

Step 10

Tighten so that the knot connects neatly to each other.
Step 11 The cobra pattern forms on the bracelet

Step 11

The pattern is now formed by performing this process alternately from side to side.

So you only need to follow steps 4-10 until you can no longer tie any knots on the center cord.
Step 12 Cut and burn the ends neatly

Step 12

Finish by cutting off any excessively long lengths of paracord. Then burn the ends with a lighter or an adjustable burner pen. Press the cord with a pair of scissors against the hot paracord to make it flat, so there are no sharp edges.

We wish you lots of enjoyment with your new paracord bracelet.
